Dear Prof. Yuneker,
I am enclosing a small duplicate (for your retention)
together with a copy of the collector’s data of a Cuscuta
from Uganda. When I first saw it I thought it was a new
species but now think it may only be a variety of
C. kilimanjari Oliver from which it differs by having large
flowers, and thicker, more, fringed scales.. The scales are

sinuses are acute. I would be extremely interested to have
your views on this specimen. I intend to describe it as
a variety - perhaps if you are interested you would like

The Flora of	East Tropical Africa	is	now underway	and
Kew have asked me	to write up Cuscnta.	I	am harrowing	some
material from Missouri. The curator there says that there
is no sheet there	bearing your annotation	as being the	type
of C. cordofana but he presumes that a	Figari specimen
labelled Cj»—gjigjralis is the type. Would you please confirm
this.
With very best wishes,
Yours sincerely,
