Not uncommon, now in flower.
(a) Nearly pure dense stand of Pinus sylves-
tris, 1-2 dm in diam (50 years old), with
scattered 6 dm Pinus specimen trees and few
Betula pendula, thinned of all saplings,
therefore with completely open pine needle
floor with next to no understory. With^

b) Mixed forest of Betula pendula and Pinus
sylvestris with understory of Lathyrus
pisiformis, Pieris hieracioides, Aconitum
