KAUAI: Lower Limahuli Valley. East wall of valley. Degraded native forest
patch. Pleome aurea, Metrosideros polymorpha, Diospyros sandwicensis,
mixed with Clusia, Schefflera actinophylla, and Cordyline. Dicranopteris
linearis dominant ground cover.
Tree, 8 m tall. Pubescent, serrated leaves with orange petioles, bunched at
branch ends. Terminal inflorescences arranged on spikes. Each flower with
small pubescent bract below pedicel. Bark orange in color.
