An average to good quality, 5+ acre mesic prairie in a former pasture (owned
by Brian Brown) is approximately 4 miles southeast of Malcolm. The prairie is
on the Southern Iowa Drift Plain.
Common to abundant on a south/southeast-facing moderate prairie slope.
Fruits are light green, grey or white. Scleria trialomerata is associated with
Achillea millefolium. Agrostis gigantea. Dianthus armeria. Medicaao lupulina.
Poa pratensis and Trifolium pratense.
