Tallus along dry streambed and along foot of ridge next to river, along roadside,
moderate dope, foil sun. Well-drained, rocky soil, shale. Common and native.
Nama Karoo.
Tufted grass with stolon. 80 cm high. Leaves thin, 30 cm x 2-3 mm. Spikelets
in a panicle.
