Papua New Guinea. Gulf Province: On the Kikori River between
Kikori and Kopi. 144° 15’E, 7° 30’S.
Tree growing on the edge of the river, ~7m. Leaves, mostly alternate
However, some leaves are opposite, but not 180° across from each
other. Leaves, glabrous with crenate margins. Annulate stipule scars
Fruits, cauliflorous, hanging from long branches. Fruits exudes clear
or white latex when cut. Inside of fruit creamy white, turning
orangish on exposure to air. Flowers inside syconium cream colored
Outside of fruit reddish/brown/greenish with white specks
