NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN 04999086 ARUSHA Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Nasipriong'. Collected along a river. Information given by Kidami Metele, irmakaa-agegroup. D. 29,4.93. (35° 12' E 3° 12' S). Alt 1800 m. APr 29, 1993 Tree Maasai name: enkinyei (small), orkinyei (big) Decoction of bark of root is mixed with milk and drunk for "bone gonorrhea". Half cup is used to mix with a litre of honey beer for 12 hours. It can also be extracted m water and stirred for 3 seconds in 1/2 litre of water. It is bitter. The medicine makes the body scratch a bit and provokes a bit diarrhoea. It can be used at meatcamps if one feels like. It is not as good as fruits of "olodwai" for "bone-gonorrhea". The darkred decoction of root mixed with meat soup, both in and outside of meatcamps. Leaves used as table at meatcamp, as the leaves don't stick in the meat.
