Cultivated in Quarantine House, Kew, 16 Dec 1959. Grown from S. Bampton no. 25, British Honduras. Flowers pale green, turning chocolate-brown, stamens pale yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Annotation by B. G. Schubert, Jun 1977: Grown at Kew from rhizome of Bampton 25, from which the Holotype was collected "near Belize, British Honduras, February 23, 1959."
