At THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Plants of Ghana No. 107 SAPOTACEAE Chrvsophvllum beguei GHANA. Ashanti: Sekyere. Bobiri Forest Reserve. 6°38’N, 10175 W. Moist semi-deciduous forest with many lianas. Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Small tree, 20m tall. Small buttresses. Bark spongy, roughs dark gray. Slash yellow, orange lines; white, copious, sticky exudate. Leaves simple, elliptic, acuminate, base asymmetrical, margin crenate; contorted, scandent, reddish-brown hairs carpet leaf and petiole. S.
