Quercus rubra dominated mixed hardwood forest (Acer rubrum, A. pensylvanicum, Carya ovata, Ostrya, Q. alba, Q. prinus, Q. rubra) with sparse Picea rubens and Tsuga, occasional Kalmia and Hamamelis in understory, sandstone boulders in drainages. on dead Quercus log.
