Habitat:
Mixed dipterocarp forest, associates include Shorea,
Meliaceae, Myristicaceae, Dipterocarpus. Red clay
soil.
Field Char:
Tree 8 m tall, 45 cm dbh. Trunk covered by moss.
Leaves coriaceous, light green beneath with small
white scale like hairs. Petioles deeply concave, 4 cm
long. Pedicel stout. Flower buds green turning light
red.
Notes:
Local name: Juhin. Use: Leaf shoots used as a
shampoo to darken hair to black.
