species is common and widely distributed in the Philip-
pines at low altitudes. Blanco’s species has been reduced to
Qowmia leptostachya DC. by Fernandez-Villar, but the common
Luzon form appears to me to be G. microcarpa rather than
G. leptostachya, a conclusion also reached by Vidal.
