Annot. Small tree; buttresses absent;
height 30 feet, d.b.h. 3 inches. Bark
purplish-grey, with numerous hairline
fissures. Large and small horizontal
ridges frequent. Lenticels numerous
small, slightly raised, + in horizontal
configuration. Blaze red-brown. Wood
orange-straw. Odour and exudate absent.
Leaves dark green on upper surface; pale
green on lower surface. Flower buds
yellow-green. Local name Naka.
