Herb, creeper, up to 80 cm long. Stems reddish to light green.
Leaves upperside green, underside grey-green with reddish
veins.
Calyx green, corolla bright violet. Stamens yellow. Pistil pale
yellowish. Outer stamens with a sickle-shaped appendix, red -
violit. Fruits green.
Uses: Medical plant, crushed leaves used as a medicine against
dysentery.
Bought on the Nkol Eton market, Yaounde.
