GABON, OGOOUE-IVINDO, upper Mebom River, 1-3 tan

from camp Belinga. Mountain stream of c, 4 m wide, easy to
cross, rocky streambed. Stream banks mostly shady because of
high primary growth overhanging the stream. Stream banks
sometimes sunny with dense herbaceous primary vegetation of
Maranthaceae, Zingiberaceae. Rocks overgrown with moisture-
loving herbs. High primary rainforest vegetation beside the
stream. On dry shore of mountain stream.
1°06’N, 13°12’E Alt: 580m
Woody shrub, c. 2 m high. Peduncle pink-red. Stems green
beneath, purple-red above. Petioles pink-red above, lighter
beneath.
Calyx pink-green. Corolla pink, venation darker pink. Style
white, ovary green, stigma pink. Filaments white, anthers
yellow.
