Perennial graminoid; sheaths smooth. Growing with Symplocarpus
foetidus, Thelypteris noveboracensis, Glyceria striata, Impatiens
capensis, Carex athntica, Rubus hispidus, Clethra alnifolia, and
Betula lenta.
