THE NEW BOTANICAL GARDEN Plants of Ghana No. 39 Terminalia superba COMBRETACEAE ^^TANICAL GARDEN '04964740 GHANA. Ashanti: Sekyere. Bobiri Forest Reserve. 6°38*N, 1°17’W. Moist semi-deciduous forest with many lianas. Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Emergent tree with leaves crowded at ends of twigs, 46m tall. Crown flat. Round, clean, straight bole. Tall, plank buttresses. Very hard wood. Fibrous, smooth, brown bark, flaky when old. Slash orange, turning brown. Simple, elliptic leaves with simple, brown hairs. S.
