Bur. 2719 Borden is the type. To this species Î reduced Ailanthus pongeiion Blanco, non Gmel., hpt I am now convinced that this was an error. A species well characterized by its large, prominently reticu- late samaras, its pubescent petals, glabrous filaments, and stel- lately spreading styles or styie-arms.
