Phytogeogr. value: A plant of the sub-Saharo-Smdian-
Irano-Turanian group of connection, penetrating into the Sudano-
Deccanian and Mediterranean »regions.
. A typical steppe and desert ruderal plant. We did not find
it at* all in natural association’s. Widely but discontinuously
distributed in the Saharo-Sindian and Irano-Turanian territories
of Palestine. An excellent indicator of proximity of human sett-
lements, but sometimes met with far from habitations in dry
wadies. In the Mediterranean part of Palestine sometimes culti vated.
