¿OH THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Plants of Ghana No. 14 STERCULIACEAE Nesoaordonia papaveri fera GHANA. Ashanti: Sekyere. Bobiri Forest Reserve. 6°38’N, 1°17’W. Moist semi-deciduous forest with many lianas. Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Tall tree, 31m high. Clean, round, straight bole. Medium-sized buttresses. Very hard wood. Hard, fibrous, rough bark. Slash pink when young; brownish, or reddish-purple when old, darkens to brown. Stipules deciduous.
