semi-deciduous forest with many lianas.
Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of
1500mm/y rain.
Small tree or shrub, spreading crown, 10m
tall. Straight, round bole. Small
buttresses. Hard wood. Bark brittle, smooth,
gray. Slash brownish-red or orange-brown.
Pinnate leaves. Leaflets opposite or
subopposite, elliptic, margin crenate;
simple and stellate hairs on leaves.
