THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Plants of Ghana No. 45 SAPINDACEAE B1iohi a welwitschi i GHANA. Ashanti: Sekyere. Bobiri Forest Reserve. 6°38’N, 1°17’W. Moist semi-deciduous forest with many lianas. Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Tree, 46m tall, pale brown flushes of new leaves, branches originate from base of main trunk. Bumps on trunk. Buttressed. Hard wood. Brittle, gray-brown, smooth bark with rough patches. Slash orange, turns deep brown. Pinnate leaves; simple, brown hairs, some in domatia. S.
