General vegetation: Campo cerrado (a type of scrubby woodland originally) on upland, or very rarely forest. Open marsh or dense secondary forest ("mata") along the streams. This habitat: Weed in open spot in orchard.

Description
Branches radiating from taproot lie flat along ground; inflorescences rise slightly at small angle. A smaller plant with branches on one side only. Fls. yellow with red-brown vertical lines on middle of back of standard. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
