  • Description

    Small slender tree; stem 5 inches thick, 30 feet high, mainly branched above the middle; wood soft, yellowish-white, or merely yellowish, odorless and tasteless; bark smoothish, dull brown mottled with gray; branches laxly rebranched; twigs slender, somewhat drooping with ascending tips leaves mainly horizontal, or slightly descending, nearly flat, coriaceous, deep sublucid green above, much paler beneath, only slightly recurved toward the tip; fruits green, solitary in the leaf axils, upon very short stalks, short ellipsoid or subglobose, 1/2 inch long, with 2 flattened seeds (?).
