On boulder behind beach among other small trees.
Tree 8 mx 16 cm diam, trunk angular, densely branched.
Outer bark gray, thin, finely lenticellate and finely fissured,
shed in small rectangular to square plates to 1-3 cm long.
Inner bark red; resin yellowish, translucent, scant. Calyx
pale green, corolla white, filaments and connective white,
anthers red-purple. Also abundant in sublittoral forest
(dense shady forest with numerous poles, canopy ca. 12 m,
on rocky level terrace 25 m elevation on thin soil), but those
not flowering.
