Submontane forest on steeply dissected terrain, many poles,
strong presence of palms in understory, discontinuous
canopy of ca. 20 m tall with emergents to 35 m.
Tree 20 m x 30 cm, outer bark gray, sparsely lenticellate,
relatively thick, shed in small irregular plates; inner bark
light orange. Pseudostipules ca. 6 mm long, almost
orbicular. On steep slope above stream. Sterile. Leaflets
pale green on abaxial side.
