Forest on steep terrain exposed to supra-annual cyclones,
high density of lianas and poles, open canopy with
emergents to 30 m tall.
Tree 18 m x 28 cm diam, outer bark gray, finely fissued,
with occasional eruptions, thin, shed in small plates. Inner
bark light orange. Fruits to 4 x 3.4 cm (larger on some other
trees), obovoid, gray-green, sparsely raised-lenticellate.
Mesocarp ca. 2 mm thick. Common.
