Richtersveid, Rocky ridge west of Grootderm power substation, 20 km east of Alexander Bay: 28° 32.82' S: 16° 35.955' E On gentle NE slope of rocky ridge, in well-drained sandy soil pockets among rocks of old blue calcrete, in full sun. Native and locally common. Desert to Succulent Karoo with Euphorbia hamata, Dregeochloa, Astridia Iongifolia, Conophytum, Sarcocauion and Zygophyilum. Perennial dwarf shrub up to 40 cm high, bark waxy, maroon-black. Leaves alternate, simple, dark green and hairy, peltate, leaf margins dentate.
