Disturbed vegetation on red lateritic soil. Rank
grasses. With Senna obtusifolia (Ml84), Mimosa
pudica and Indigofera hirsuta (Ml83).

Twining plant growing through low shrubs and herbs |
to c. 8 m. Stems mid green. Leaves with trilobed, ±
arrow shaped leaflets, mid-green above, paler
beneath. Wide range in leaf size and width. Petiole
markedly grooved above, and stained maroon at
either end. Flowers in axillary inflorescences, with
pedicels of varying lengths. Flowers held erect and
above the associated vegetation. Pedicel roughly
hairy. Flowers ? paired. Calyx pale yellowish green
with maroon stains. Flowers dull green-white
mauve: standard outer & inner surfaces, mauve, with
green eye, held ± erect. Keel white, hidden between
two wings; wings pale mauve with deeper purple
upper edge. Pods green, round, slightly club-tipped,
becoming brittle and dark brown, roughly hairy.
