c. 25 km S of Antsirabe, northern end of range of
hills.

In small stream gully through granite rocks and
sandy soil, amongst grassland which is
occasionally burnt.
Alt. 1700 m.
Climbing shrub growing through bracken ferns;
stems woody, brown, whitish-pubescent; leaves
trifoliolate, mid-green with sunken reticulate
veins above, paler, pubescent especially on the
raised veins beneath. Inflorescences axillary
racemes, with yellowish spreading soft hairs;
calyx stained brown, yellowish-hairy, 5-toothed
with the upper 2 teeth shorter and somewhat
fused; standard bright yellow with a brown basal
eye and central stripe within, heavily veined with
chocolate brown outside; wings bright yellow
with small brownish marks near the base; keel
cream with a brown tip. Fruit flat, green,
reticulate-veined, with yellowish (?glandular)
hairs.
