Lackey det. H. J. Venter, 2001 South Africa. Kwazulu Natal., Along coastal road, 20 km north of Richards bay to Mapelane, along RBM beach turn aft 28° 39.689' S: 32° 15.339' E. Elevation: . Coastal dune with gentle E slope, well-drained soil of aeolian windblown sand of tertiary seabeds. Common. Native. Reclaimed mined sand dunes covered in dune forest with Acacia karoo, Ipomoea, Laportea, Senecio tamoides, Passiflora, Oplismenus, Cyperus. Perennial climber with twining stems, 3-4 m long. Leaves alternate, trifoliately compound, hairy. Leaflets broadly ovate, 5-6 x 4-5 mm, margins entire, apices acute, leaf bases of 2 lower leaflets oblique.
