Illustr. 1:115 (1843). Phytogeogr. -value: A West-Saharo-Sindian species, penetrating into the Sudano-Deccanian region. This chamaephyte is limited in Palestine to the light soil belt of the coastal plain from the southern part of Sharon southwards. The Palestinian part of the distributional area of this species is connected with its main N. African part by the sandy soils of Sinai. One of the group of Saharo-Sindian plants growing in Palestine under eu-Mediterranean climates, thanks to special edaphic conditions.
