    A widely spreading shrub..., stems several from the same root cluster, ascending, ultimately numerously rebranched: wood soft, whitish; bark brown, numerously covered with lenticells: twigs lax, horizontally spreading: leaves submembranous, slightly glaucous beneath: inflorescent divaricate or subpendulous, greenish except the pure white petals, slightly but sweetly fragrant: pods a few inches long or less, yellowish green, flattened, constricted, usually curved.
