    Forest with ferns, Erica spp., Restionaceae spp., Hippia. On moderate mountain slope of <30°, well-drained soil of quartzite loam and black turf. In full sun. Along roadside, rare. Native.

  • Description

    Shrub, 3 m high, 4 cm DBH, straggler with thin branches. Petiole 10 mm long, leaves alternate, trifoliately compound, colour blue green, pinnae margins entire, center pinna obovate, 3x1 mm, lateral pinnae 2-2.5x0.8 mm. Flowers 4 - 8 in terminal clusters, corolla fuschia-coloured with yellow nectar guide, 15-18 mm long. Pods bilobed, 3x1 cm, young pods bright yellow-green, old pods dark brown.
