  • Description

    stems green, tough, several from the woody base which gave rise to many roots tightly anchoring the plants to the ground; leaves membranous, flat, mostly descending, dull green above, somewhat checkered green beneath; panicles terminal, half drooping, green except the flowers; flowers subpendulous, white, except the light pink margins of the wings and the deep purple blotch at the base of the banner; follicle 1 to 3 seeded and often constricted, much flattened.
