Growing through and over small trees on field
margins, on sandy soil.	Alt.	c. 2 m
Robust woody climber with twining stems; young
shoots green with long white spreading hairs, very
dense and often chocolate brown on very young
growth. Stipules medifixed, large, with long
pointed lobes, soon becoming dry and brown but
persisting. Leaves trifoliolate, very large; stipels
conspicuous, acicular, persistent; leaflets deep green
and glossy with indented veins above slightly paler
and pubescent with chocolate brown hairs beneath,
the young leaves very densely covered with rich
brown hairs. Infructescences on old, leafless
shoots, terminal on lateral shoots, held erect; fruit
dark brown, golden hairy, woody, compressed, with
2 wings along the upper suture; seeds 3-4 per fruit,
compressed, with a very long hilum, chestnut brown
with black flecks, separated from each other by a
dry membrane.
NOTE: Sometimes seen as drift seeds on the shore.
