Herb to c. 1.5 m tall; stems fibrous; stipules large,
dry, brown, not falling. Leaves trifoliolate,
stipellate; leaflets mid-green, oily above, sightly6
paler with raised veins beneath. Flowers in sparsely
branched, terminal pseudoracemes, bright tangerine
orange, c. 15 mm tall; calyx green with 4 triangular
lobes standard slightly reflexed, orange with a very
small, basal whitish eye surrounded by a blotch of
deep orange; wings appressed to the keel, strong
deep orange; keel folded in near the tip, deep pinkish
orange; filament tube pink, anthers lemon.. Fruit
deeply scalloped along the lower edge, stickily hairy,
compressed but quite thick, green with a pale green
line around the margins on both sides.'
