On loose lateritic crumbs at the base of a red
lateritic road cutting, amongst grasses.
Alt. c. 1300 m
Prostrate or sub erect herb to c. 20 cm tall, or 30 cm
in diameter; root swollen and tap-root-like. Leaves
3-foliolate with slender green stipules; leaflets pea
green above and beneath, subcoriaceous, the tip ±
stiffened and spiniform. Flowers c. 8 mm tall,
bright lemon yellow; calyx 4-lobed, the upper lobe
notched, brownish green, pubescent; standard erect,
obcordate, c. 6 x 9 mm, bright lemon yellow with a
greenish base, pale brown pubescent behind; wings
bright yellow at the tip, pale green at the base, c. 6 x
1.5 mm; keel much shorter than the wings, c. 3.5
mm long, green, not spiralling at the tip. Pods
inflated, c. 15-18 mm long, oblong, mucronate at
the tip, silvery or yellowish pubescent, several-
seeded.
