Open scrub and grassland. Growing with
shrubby Psidimum guajava and Scaevola.
Grazed heavily. Growing c. 200 m from the
seafront, on sand.

Woody herb to ± 1 m tall. Plant seeming to
die after flowering. Leaves glaucous
beneath. Flowers in slender terminal
racemes, standard petal and wings bright
yellow, veined and stained red, standard
stained red behind, and in front with age.
Keel greenish - also veined red. Seed pods
often eaten by insects - infested with ants.
Pods inflated.
