FLORA OF MADAGASCAR Crotalaria pallida Aiton E Madagascar, Tamatave (Toamasina) Province, south of Ambila-Lemaitso, near the coast. Map Ref.: 18°55'S 49°07'E Open scrub and grassland. Growing with shrubby Psidimum guajava and Scaevola. Grazed heavily. Growing c. 200 m from the seafront, on sand. Alt. sea-level Woody herb to ± 1 m tall. Plant seeming to die after flowering. Leaves glaucous beneath. Flowers in slender terminal racemes, standard petal and wings bright yellow, veined and stained red, standard stained red behind, and in front with age.
