Sandy soil in river valley, around the margins of the
village, and beneath coffee plantations.

Creeping herb forming tangled mats; stems wiry,
twining, densely covered in pale spreading hairs,
rooting freely along any point contacting the soil.
Leaves deep green above, paler beneath, coarsely
hairy on both surfaces. Flowers in ± sessile axillary
clusters, or clustered on a peduncle up to 5 cm long.
Flowers pale blue-lilac; calyx subtended by 2 green
bracteoles, 5-lobed, green, hairy; standard erect, pale |
blue with a deep lilac band surrounding a small basal
green eye; wings much larger than and enclosing the
keel, both pale blue. Pods with thickened, deep
green margins, densely covered in stiff golden-
brown hairs, especially densely on the margins.
