EX HERB. HORT. BOT. REG. KEW. FLORA OF MADAGASCAR Caesalp SW Madagascar, Toliara (Tulear) Province, Itambono Corridor, near Beheloko just after south turn to Lake Tsimanampetsotsa. Map Ref.: 23°54'S 43°42’E Open woodland 10-15 m tall; on red sandy soil, with Euphorbias, Acacia, Gagnebina. Alt. 25 m Open deciduous tree with thick branchlets. Bark grey, pustular, with leaf scars, wood red. Leaves with 9-11 leaflets; rachis red; leaflets mid-green, glaucous beneath, with prominent veining beneath. Panicles terminal, sometimes branched. Rowers pale yellow, fading to orange-red, 9 mm in diameter. Calyx cupular c. 5 mm long, green. Petals 4, c. 4 mm long, pale yellow, with yellow appendages, fading red.
