Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Emergent tree, 46m tall. Spreading branches and fine fern-like foliage. Crown like umbrella. Long plank buttresses. Round bole. Gray-brown, smooth bark. Slash pale yellow. Prominent eyemarks. Bipinnate leaves. Pinnae 10-19 pairs; leaflets opposite, oblong, base truncate, hairy. S.
