Bark very dark grey, almost black, rough, irregular long, fissures, berk of branches smoother, lighter grey with long, strands of darker old berk. Slash OB, up to 1*5 cms., grey-brown, I& maroon-red, 1 cm. Il> exudes orange droplets gum. Note different sizes leaflets; diseased pods. In fr. Know-thoms on bole & branches. Habitat Growing on dry exposed northern hill slopeonn very shallow sandy soil on the steep side (almos- cliff) in poor open degraded Kirkia thicket, with GyrocarpusT Terminalis prunoides, Kirkia acuminata, Comiphora mollis, Diospyros quiioense, Gardenia resiniflua etc. Coll.
