Tree < 10' tall, flowering while nearly leafless, old leaves severely
damaged by rose beetles, a few shoots flushing vigorous young
leaves; flowers sweetly scented (<§> 10 am) pet pure white, waxy,
banner with central green-yellow flush and lines along veins; ovary
viscid, pink at base and where tapering into style, green in between.
