    Open, cobble shoals and bars in stream channel. Growing with Justicia americana, Eleocharis sp., Ambrosia artemissifolia, Boehmeria cylindrica, Phyla lanceolata, Cynodon dactylon, Conoclinium coelestinum, Rumex crispus, Persicaria sp., Leersia sp., Schedonorus arundinaceus, Salix caroliniana, etc.
