Habitat
Bottom of incised wet swale (draining into Prairie Creek), just upstream of standing water. Growing with Carex oklahomensis, C. opaca, Allium canadense mobilense, Asclepias hirtella, Juncus spp., & Salix nigra.

500+ culms. Plants rhizomatous. Fresh culm bases reddish-purple.
