Habitat
Gently-sloped, dry, sandy hay field atop sandstone cap of mountain. Growing with Paspalum notatum, Lolium perenne, Vulpia sp., Bromus spp., Schizachyrium scoparium, Carex sp., Stylosanthes biflora, Juncus spp. & Opuntia sp.

Hundreds of plants observed. Short-rhizomatous, forming dense clumps, some consisting of 100+ stems.
