Growing with Carex aggregata, C. annectens, C. opaca, Juncus anthelatus, J. brachycarpus, Andropogon virginicus, Eleocharis erythropoda, Dichanthelium dichotomum, D. scoparium, Diospyros virginiana, Ulmus americana, & Fraxinus pennsylvanica.
