Habitat
Cherty talus at base of steep, mesic, NW-facing slope just above narrow, upper river terrace and below calcareous bluff. Growing with Cladrastis kentukea, Celtis occidentalis, Ulmus sp., Polymnia canadensis, Philadelphus pubescens, Lindera benzoin, Symphyoricarpos orbiculatus, Asimina triloba, Hyrdangea arborescens, Asarum canadense, Hydrophyllum appendiculatum, etc.
