THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Plants of Ghana No. 10 MYRISTICACEAE Pyr.nanthus angolensis GHANA. Ashanti: Sekyere. Bobiri Forest Reserve. 6°38’N, 1°IPM, Moist semi-deciduous forest with many lianas. Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Tree with crown of horizontal, whorled branches, common in disturbed forests, 38m ^all. Straight, long, cylindrical bole, 4.5m tfl girth. Fibrous, rough bark. Slash pink-brown, or red, darkening. Pinnate leaves. Leaflets alternate, narrowly elliptic.
